No Roads Without Trees
This collection of zines is part of an artistic inquiry and project called ‘Roots and Ruins’. It looks at mapping socio-ecological aspects of significant historic trees in Kuala Lumpur, that defied the test of time, trees uprooted naturally, and unnaturally and trees exhibiting a sense of place.
By reflecting on popular landscape trends and the city’s chaotic urbanization, it chronicles the architecture of roadside trees and traces the historical greening of Kuala Lumpur pre and post-independence.
